I don’t know about your country but here in the USA you can copyright any number of songs with a MP3 CD and $35; check out our governments copyright web page. This is one way to cost effectively officially register a song with the government. There will be no question who did the song first as the first registration of copyright is what lawyers go by, at least that is what I have been told.

The only issue with this verses copyrighting one song at a time is that if someone wants a song from the CD they will get all of the songs on the CD for the agreed upon price. If you copyright each song individually then they only get that one song. But the copyright cost is $35 for each individual song.
