Hi LT,
MIDI and WAV are two completely different formats. WAV is audio and cannot be converted to MIDI. To do what you want, you need to use a MIDI style or to get the held chords happening in BIAB and render them to an audio file.
I'm surprised that you cannot get the MIDI file and the exported audio file to align. I do this all the time in Reaper (and before that in Sonar). Have you double-checked that BIAB and the DAW have exactly the same tempo setting? This might be part of the problem. If the DAW has a different tempo from BIAB, this will affect the MIDI file but not the imported audio file that you rendered.
