I guess the bottom line is that BIAB doesn't provide a backing of Chinese instruments and their related styles.

Just to clear up a couple of misunderstandings in the above ...

To use BIAB, it's necessary to enter all the chords. Once that's done, the user presses the "Generate" button and BIAB automatically creates a backing. This does not work on the fly as such.

Also, with VSTs they only happen when being played. That's true of any musical instrument though. Anything that's being played through a VST can be saved to an audio file.

Have a listen to the below song of mine. The backing is all BIAB except for the stings. The strings are being played through a VST plugin (they start at 44 seconds). This might help give you some idea of what I'm trying to say.
