I seem to recall that I recently had my thinking adjusted on this one and that pushes are a global event.

That being said, if you have one of the later versions of BIAB, it's possible to use the "Freeze" function to achieve what you want.

  • Generate the song with the pushes added.
  • Freeze the tracks that you want to keep pushes in.
  • Remove the pushes from the chords on the chord sheet.
  • Regenerate the song. (The frozen tracks will still contain their pushes and the newly generated tracks will be devoid of them.)

One thing to keep in mind if you use the above approach is that if you change chords or add/remove bars in the song, you'll need to unfreeze any frozen tracks for such changes to take effect. You'd then need to reset the pushes as above.
