A strange issue. I just finished a song that is 120 measures. If I hit the fast fwd the cursor goes to the end as it should. The chord sheet is blank/gray after 120. All other songs end were they should. This tune will continue to go past 120 up to around measure 250 before it stops. I can't seem to put my finger on it.

This has never happened but I found the problem but not sure what went wrong. It happens when I "generate a midi track".If I delete this track it stops were it should. I was able to fix the song by converting the midi track to audio and then export that track to a wav file, delete the track and reinsert it as a wav file.
I then opened a new blank song and did the "generate a midi track" and things are back to normal.A master reset did not help before either. Weird.

Generally, a song will stop when it "see's" nothing else past a certain point in any of the tracks.

So if it keeps going past what YOU thought was the end, look at the tracks and you will likely find something way other there in one of them.

You didn't mention if this was in RB or some other DAW. I know that in Sonar, a track with another clip or data in it has a series of dots in the track to indicate there is more to come..... I don't use RB as my DAW so I'm not familiar with how it might display that little tidbit of information.

You can find my music at:

Nope. I let it run until it did stop at bar 250 then I highlited all 48 tracks back to the real end bar and deleted.Still happened. If I'm at bar -1 and hit FWD it would go to the proper track end. I can't seem to replicate.
Oh well just looking for others that may have had this pop up.All is back to normal.

I've experienced the same thing John. Its not a big deal unless I'm using the Juke Box, in which case the song needs to end at the right place so the next song can begin.

Your workaround may not work for me, since all of my jukebox lists have MIDI tracks with data used to control the voiceworks

I can't replace that with an audio track. it MUST be MIDI

Pat it appeared to be a fluke with just that song.A new song was able to use midi and stop at the right place. Some kind of bug that's not repeatable.

Hi Silvertones,

Check to see that the column LOOP for the offending track in the Classic tracks Window is ZERO (default). If One then this will cause the track to loop again irrespective of all other ending parameters. This is caused by Removing a track, following which a new track 48 is added with a One in the loop column. Eventually, if a succession of tracks are deleted, then you are likely to use an altered track and experience the problem you have discussed.

This is an old problem, referred to Support on a number of occasions, but still with us.

I hope this helps.

Thanks. I'll have to wait until it happens again if ever.

I've seen this in distant past, but not for many versions now.
My solution was to use From-Thru to select from (end of song) thru 5000:1:0 on all tracks and use Cut-Close Gap

Only happened a couple times and this removed any stray bits I may have had.
Seem to recall on one occasion I had a corrupt file that did this and Save As worked in this case. That put the file on a different spot on the hard drive, which may have been the real problem.

I would think Loop would be apparent in the display, but maybe I'm not understanding that aspect.

I think it was just a fluke.

'Fluke' is not a valid answer for geeks like me. smile
We want to know 'why' and fix it.
Computers only do what they are told.
Not always by the user.

Yep.
Hard to fix it if you can't see what's broken though. smile
