As usual, when I don't do something on a regular basic I forget how to do it. Like saving rendered files to my DESKTOP. Here is what I wrote down that used to work. I AM able to render songs to WAV just don't know how to save the file to Desktop: Audio>Render MIDI to Stereo .WAV file,etc.Then I have the choice to (1) DXI-Direct Render (save wav file) or (2) Save in Windows Media format (WMA). Which is preferable of the two anyhow? Okay, so I successfully rendered a song after clicking on DXI-Direct Render and it was "successfully rendered" and it appeared in the "bb" folder. Great. But I can't get it to my desktop. So, I tried Export song as audio (.wav, mp3, mp4) and also Export song as .wav but never was given an option as to where to export it to, they wre saved to my BB folder. So now I have the song in my BB folder 4 times (as MGU, SGU, WAV, MP3). I want one to go to my Desktop!  Help!!

The top of the audio render dialog has a Choose button which will allow you to specify where to save the file. I think the default is where the BIAB file you are rendering is kept.
Wav or WMA are the preferred formats. Use Wav if you have the audiophile version and/or wish the flexibility to compress to other formats (wma, mp3, etc). WMA should suffice in most cases.

WAV is uncompressed with exactly the same audio quality you hear when you hit play in Biab, WMA or MP3 are compressed with some loss of audio quality.
So, just use WAV right? Yes if you're not going to post your song on the internet to share like using Soundcloud or email it to a friend as an attachment. For those things you're forced to use a compressed format because WAV files are way too large for that. An uncompressed WAV could be 50-100mb while a WMA of the same song might be 5-7mb. You can email that but certainly cannot email 100mb. The tradeoff of course is audio quality and there's tons of discussions about picking the best compression scheme to both make the file small enough yet still sound good if not perfect.

This thread also touches on basic file management. If the rendered file winds up somewhere you don't want, then you can move it using a file manager.
Windows Explorer, with two windows of it open, can do that, or you can use a utility such as the one I use, Total Commander. Total Commander is based on the old Norton Commander. You have two panels open, for the source and target folder, and simply move or copy files back and forth.

A caution here. The rendering process is designed to work in a way that has the rendered file be created in the same folder as the original BiaB file. If the original BiaB file is in, say the "BB" folder and you direct the "Rendering" menu to create the file on the desktop, you may find that the rendered file sounds quite a bit different from the BiaB original.
So plan your file management BEFORE using the "Render" command. Often I will move the original BiaB file to my desktop. Then when I render I leave the destination alone, so that the rendered file ends up in the desktop by default. Then I may do some more editing and move the files to other folders as needed.
How you manage your files is your business. The point is this: Allow the "Render" command to created the new file in the same folder as the original BiaB file.

From BB ...IIRC, you simply click on the WAV icon and it opens a dialog box. You choose the destination and it will render all the tracks and or a composite track as a wave to the location of your choice.
I have stopped doing it that way however. I now save the file, close it and reopen in RB. It's from there that I save the waves to my song project folder.
