Hi,
I am a new user, and have a lot of questions. I wish I had a physical paper manual to read. PDF is good for searching, but hard to read.
Is there any place to find answers for newbies, or any site that explains BIAB? Videos are good, but it takes time to find the ones I want in order to solve a problem at the moment.
I just started to use BIAB 2012. I lost interest in playing music soon after I purchased it, but I am picking it up again.
My main purpose is to (1) create backing tracks, so that I can practice my guitar/bass/keyboard with them, and to (2) export synth and drum part to Guitar Pro when I transcribe a TAB for guitar/bass. Otherwise I will forget.
I am working on (2), and the song is 4/4 but 2/4 is inserted in the middle of the song. I can change from Bar Setting, but my question is:
Can I change the layout of the song?
Each row consists of 4 bars, but when I insert one bar of 2/4, I want the next bar to go to another row, and have the rest of the 3 bars grayed out.
Also, can I eliminate/insert a bar? Sometimes, I put a chord in a wrong place (such as skipping a chord or duplicating a chord).

Hi Mike!
I would say you are doing pretty well. You have already uncovered some of the more advanced features.
To insert a bar, go to "Edit >> Insert bars"
Th have each section on a new line, go to "OPT..>>..Preferences..>>..Display" and look for "New line for every section."

BiaB has been around a long time, and has developed a vast array of features. To some extent, it will be necessary to visit every menu and try all the choices in each one.
Some other members of this forum will be giving you directions to tutorial videos, some created by PG Music, some created by users.

Hi Mike, There a some PG Music videos available at the below link. Simply scroll down to the section called "Video Archives". http://www.pgmusic.com/videos.bbwin.htmDon't be concerned that some of the versions are not 2012. All videos are relevant (unless they're specifically for ver. 2013). Lastly, there are many videos for beginners on Youtube. Simply search for Band In A Box. They're easy to find. All the best, Noel

Thank you everybody for your advice!
I was very surprised at your willingness to help.
I guess I have to go through PDF manual. I put it on Kindle for easier reading.
And when I have time, I will go through videos.
As for starting a new line after inserting an odd bar (2/4), I was able to delete the 3 following bars. Checking on "Chordsheet and Notation - Start a new line" from Bar Setting did not do what I wanted. (I don't know what it does...)
Inserting a bar also worked.
