Some pre-set names are more explanatory than others, but they are all only generalizations. A pre-set called "DRUM KIT" is never going to work the same on both a jazz kit and a heavy rock kit. The best bet is to try several pre-sets, regardless of name and see which works best. You can then try to adjust the controls to get nearer to what you want.

In the final analysis, the compressor is probably the most commonly used recording tool and there's no substitute for spending some time learning the theory and practice of how it works so that you don't need pre-sets. It will always give you better results.
