Can someone remind me where I can adjust the the "holds" volume offset for Real Tracks? I can do this for Real Drums no probs, but when using the Teal Tracks guitar parts, the strum it plays on a hold is about twice the volume level of the "normal " bars...
Thanks

Hi Dennis, This adjustment is very well hidden 1. Click on the yellow "S" for "Soloist" button and then select "Open Soloist Dialogue ..." 2. Select the "Edit that I've marked in the image below. 3. Now select the Realtrack (#1) and then click on "More" (#2) as shown below. 4. Lastly, add a value in the boxes highlighted below. A positive value will increase volume and negative value will reduce it. I'd start with either -3 or +3. Because these values are decibels, it is unlikely that you'll need much more variation than this. I'm not sure if this adjustment is global and affects all RTs or if it's for individual RTs (I suspect the latter). It would be easy enough to work out through trial and error, though. All the best, Noel

Thanks, Noel; I would never have found this either, as I don't use the Soloist (that's what I'm for).
Of more interest to me is the fact that it says it includes Shots as well as Holds. But, this does need some experimenting by someone who uses the Soloist and would know the difference. I clicked on the Defaults button in that dialog and the values remained zero. Also, I have on occasion Reset to Factory Defaults and I assume that this dialog would be one that would be included, so you would have to remember to dig all the way down there to restore your own values if they weren't zero.
Plus, there is a Tech Tip that says:
This information is stored in a file called RTExtra.bin. If you plan on changing these settings, and want to preserve them, you should make a backup copy of this file, because PG Music upgrades may overwrite it.

I am not using it for soloist Matt, just trying to adjust the volume levels of RT guitar parts on a hold. For some reason the programmers made a strum on a hold twice as loud???

Noel, I just tried it, seemed to make no difference to the guitar part?

Dennis, I understand. That was my way of gently questioning whether this is the solution.

Ahh cool Matt, gotcha Actually as I have now decided to revert to using MP3 takes of the tunes, I can edit holds down with a volume envelope in Sonar..So it sorta has become moot now Dennis

Hi Dennis, It works for me. I used a value of -64dB and the sound of the hold disappeared. I haven't played around with these settings before. Tonight was the first time. What I did, in addition to what I outlined in the above post, was to select the Realtrack I wanted before clicking on the "More" button - see below image. (I've modified my original post to include this.) Also, the Realtracks was on the "Guitar" track at the time. As far as I understand things, these RT settings are accessed via the Soloist dialogue but apply to Realtracks in general and not just those sitting on the Soloist track. Regards, Noel P.S. It's also necessary to unfreeze and regenerate the tracks for any changes to take affect.

Thanks Noel, I will give that a go today I reckon PG could have made this a little less convoluted. The same process for Real Drums is so quick and easy! Dennis

There's a quick and easy fix. Right-click on the bar in question, click BAR SETTINGS, go to the drop-down menu for guitar (or whichever instrument you wish to make quieter). Select CHANGE BY and enter a negative value (about -20 should do it). Then, in the next bar, set the selected instrument BACK TO NORMAL.
You'll need to experiment a bit with the negative value you choose.
