Is it possibe to import a SMF, type 1 ( individual parts on individual tracks ) into BIAB, without all tracks being merged onto the melody track? I would like to import a song, then mix instruments, vol., pan... before doing Save As, and making a BIAB version.

Well they will go to the Melody Track however press on the green SEQ button and this will open up a self explanatory dialog.

Depends on what type of midi files you're trying to convert from and convert to. If you have a midi file created on a Macintosh and want to import the file into a Windows pc you most likely can just append the suffix ".mid" to the end of the file name. Macs do not need to see the midi suffix but pcs do. Here is a link to a freeware programs that converts between type "0" and type "1" midi files: Freeware Windows MIDI Type "0" & "1" Convertor Hope I've answered your question
