Here’s a really strange one.

I have lost the use of:
- the mixer effects on audio tracks (the software behaves just fine – no error message – but the signal is not transformed at all). Accessing these real time effects from the 'Edit DX' button on the Tracks screen is equally fruitless.
- the ‘track category options’ for audio tracks. The categories ‘pick/pluck, wind, keyboard…etc) come up fine, but all the sub-categories appear as ‘unassigned’

OK, the details now:

Power Tracks Pro Audio 11.0 (4)
Windows XP Home SP 3
Audio SE Sound card

I had an online chat with the guys at PG Support and apart from eliminating the obvious causes (are the right boxes enabled/disabled), they could not come up with any immediate fix.

I don’t think I made any change to my setup. The only possible factor that may be at work, although this appears a long shot, is that I upgraded my PC Protection package to BitDefender Internet Security 2009.

Even stranger is that all the audio effects function just fine when used « destructively » from the Edit/Audio effects menu.

So my questions are:
- has this ever happened to anyone else ?
- what would be the likely causes to investigate
- can anyone think of any other possible solutions before I reset PTPA to default and lose all my settings ?

Many many thanks,

Marc
