I work mostly in MIDI and I have never had a style that didn’t work. I own all of the MIDI styles.

The sounds you hear are dependent on your MIDI sound source. Some are not GM compliant and may not have all of the GM sounds in them. Select a GM DXi or VSTi and things should be OK.

If you have a GM sound source then check out if the sounds you want are in them. Some so called GM MIDI sets are not, someone has modified them but did not change the name. Possibly you have a bad download of the set, that happens.

What MIDI GM DXi or VSTi are you using? I assume it is selected as you get the string sound out of it. The two sounds you are missing, I’m assuming the Bird Tweet and the Drums, are two that are usually missing from a incomplete GM set.

If you are positive that you have all the sounds in the GM sound set then try a BiaB factory reset. If that doesn’t work then it may be time to reinstall those styles.

All of the above assumes that you own the style(s) that you are trying to use.

I hope this helps and good luck.

If you need help fell free to ask.

I get most of my exercise these days from shaking my head in disbelief.
