Josh,

when the song started, my first thought was "Smells like Teen Spirit, but with different chords"... which in turn made me wonder if Kurt Cobain heard voices in his head... Which made me shiver and come back to the song review.

But it didn't take long for you to differentiate your song. My final conclusion is that your song is quite original. Specifically, I liked:

1) the switch to falsetto for the phrase "voices in your head" as though the internal voices were singing that part themselves... nice touch.

2) I liked the verse at the end in which the voices "take over" and have the final say. it's A little bit creepy, but it makes a very effective statement given the theme of your song

3) your lyrics are intelligent and thought provoking, and they do a remarkable job of maintaining rhyme and meter. I didn't count off syllables as I listened (to me that's going overboard) but at first blush nothing sounded "wrong" or forced(and that's not always the case in hobbyist recording forums)

4) I thought it would have been an interesting twist if on the line where you sing
"When it says left, best go right", if the left speaker said "LEFT" both times (in the falsetto voice) while the right speaker said "RIGHT" in your voice. That would create the almost subliminal perception that the voice was contradicting you even as you sung your own song. It would go by so fast most people wouldn't notice it until later

5) as usual ROG did a great job with the solo, drums and mixing. You are fortunate to have had Rog's guidance all this time. I suspect that when you start school you will have a big head start over many of your peers. Please keep in touch, and I wish you well at school! You are a very talented young man!
