I'd like to be able to put notes like "chorus", "middle 8" and "verse" into the lead sheet. I haven't been able to hack it and searching for "notes" or text in the help file, wiki, Google and Youtube seems to lead to lyrics or stave entry related topics.
I'm well and truly stuck. Can anyone help or suggest more effective search terms? Cheers.

I opened up the Help file Search function, typed in "add text" (no quotes) and got this (below).
Let us know if that's not what you're after.

Section Text for Notation
Section Text and Boxed Text
You can now add custom text messages at any position in the notation track, with optional box to appear around the text.
To enter section text quickly at the start of a bar without using options you can type it into the Lyric Edit window and press the [Section Text] button.
To put a section text comment on the notation track:
1. Open up the notation window, and press Editable Notation mode button.
2. Right-click on the track at the point that you want to enter the section text. Answer YES to the question "Would you like to enter Section Text?"
3. This launches the Text Event dialog box, which allows you to type in the Text. You can set the Text type to "Boxed " or "Regular"

Perfect, thanks. I knew it had to be there somewhere but the search results defeated me.
To my mind, "Section Text for Notation" should come up first in a small list of available topics. Instead it is lost in a huge list of mostly irrelevant topics.
