Sam,
First, if the Iomega is the one I'm thinking of, it's two 500GB hard drives.

Look at the reviews.

Since Iomega uses other manufacturers hard drives, you don't know what you're getting. Review of one of Iomega's backups reveals it uses Samsung 5,400 RPM drives. Anything that's 'Value Series' and only 8MB of RAM for a 500 or 1TB drive is going to be slow. Make sure you turn it off when not in use.

The 320GB hard drive will be nice, you can get another hard drive to replace the modular DVD if you want to have two hard drives installed. Make sure you turn off the Wireless at gigs. With XP, of course, you won't be able to use the full 4GB of RAM, you'll probably have about 3 gigs to play with, but the Dual Core should be nice, if you haven't had one before.

The 17" monitor will stand out on stage, no doubt, but it will be easy to read from. Use it as a Karaoke screen for the audience to sing along.

I'd assume that you're going to keep your USB audio interface? The computer will support the Express Card PCMCIA interface, so if you wanted to get something like an Echo card, it would plug right in, and should be faster than USB.

I hope it all works out for you. I'm also glad you have a 'patron' and someone who believes in you.

Good luck!

Gary

I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!
