Jazz is definitely not dead... a lot of young people are listening to it and playing it... frequently in the form of jazz fusion, but that exposure gets them listening to other forms of the art.
I predict that Jazz will make a powerful comeback in the not TOO distant future, and that BIAB will play a part in that revival.
