Hello,
I am quite a beginner with BIAB and I have a basic question: how can you display the chords (I mean the notes of the chords) you type in the chords window without any "arrangements" provided by BIAB. For instance, if I type CMaj I would like to see (and print) a staff with only C E G and nothing added by the BIAB styles. (I use BIAB 2010.5)

One way is to select one of the utility styles that do this. They will keep a drum beat going, but will place just whole notes for a chord in each measure.
One is *Heldbosa.EV
Another is SW44HELD.sw
They are bossa and swing, respectively.
You can find these by clicking on the Style button, then filtering for "held".
By the way, I requested these styles on the Wishlist a decade ago, and PG Music immediately added them. This is one more demonstration of the company responding to its users' needs.

Hi Matt,
thanks for your answer but unfortunately I do not have these styles (*Heldbosa.EV or SW44HELD.sw) with my BIAB 2010.
Do you know where I can get them?

There are a few others. My go-to for this is in the Classical section - pnosimp3 and pnosimp4. Here the base note is played in the Guitar part (with piano patch) and the other chord tones in the Piano part - held for the measure or until a new chord is encountered.

Hi Marc, Welcome to the forums. What Matt was meaning were the below styles.   The easiest way to find this is to click on the "All Styles" (highlighted blue in the below image). The styles can then be found by scrolling through the list alphabetically.  As far as I'm aware, these styles are present in version 2010. Hope this helps, Noel

Hello, Matt, Noel and Kelso, thanks for your help...but I do not have any of these styles...    It sounds strange to me and when I see that Noel has 3.371 styles and that I have "only" 313, I Wonder whether my BIAB has been correctly installed or not... What do you think about? Thanks Marc.

You may have opted for BiaB 10.5 Pro, which comes with Midi style sets 1-3 and some additional assorted styles - thus missing out on quite a few styles. The MegaPAK comes with style sets 1-77. It's easy to create simple files such as Pnosimp.sty via the StyleMaker, though.

Hi Marc,
As Martin has pointed out, it looks like your version of BIAB is the basic, entry level version of the program. (My version is the UltraPlus Pak, which is the first version that has all styles, Realtracks and Realdrums.)
The two styles previously mentioned were especially created by PG Music as simple, utility styles. Because of this, I assumed that they would be found in all versions of BIAB. It seems that that is not the case.
I'd contact PG Music on support@pgmusic.com and ask if they are able to send those two styles to you. It might be that it's an oversight that they were not included in your version of BIAB. At worst, all PG Music can say is that these styles were not included with your version of BIAB. There's nothing to lose.
