I remember discovering the same thing one night when I needed the looping for a particular practice session in which this old head also needed to be able to see the notation in order to learn the loop.

What I did was go for another of the famous (infamous?) Mac Workarounds.

I cut everything else out of the darn songfile but the bars of interest, then SavedAs under a different filename so as not to overwrite the original full song.

Changed the number of choruses to quite a few and used that to get through the passage.

In effect I created a separate "song" that was just a repeated chorus that was the part of interest.

The Notation then scrolls like always.
