Kan man sync'e en externe trommemaskiner med BIAB således, at et tromme-pattern følger BIAB?
Lidt ligesom når Steinberg's Grooveagent følger en sequencer.

Det kan man desværre ikke. I hvilken forbindelse får du brug for det? Hvis du skal "synke" eksterne maskiner, skal du over i en DAW som fx Cubase eller Logic. Jeg kan finde ud af hvordan man gør i Cubase, men jeg kender desværre ikke Logic. Det er meget let at overføre BIAB spor til en DAW. Hvis du vil vide mere om hvordan man gør det, skal du bare skrive igen.

Det handler om, at jeg har en masse beats og grooves på diverse rytmeboxe, som jeg gerne vil anvende "under"/sammen med de mange styles i BIAB (Det kunne eksempelvis være fedt at få en af BIAB's country-basgange til at spille sammen med et tekno-groove...:-)...).
Dertil kommer, at BIAB jo er utrolig nem at arrangere becifringer i, hvilket ikke kan gøres med BIAB-style'sene i sequence-programmerne.
Det drejer sig derfor om, at få de eksterne rytmebokse til at starte samme tid som BIAB....altså, at synkronisere dem til BIAB, der er master. Det troede jeg godt man kunne, da jeg læste følgende på side 276 i manualen:
MIDI (sync): Default = NO .To synchronize Band-in-a-Box with an external sequencer, check this box.
Men det virker ikke!.....???
Din hjælp er uvurdelig for en rookie som mig...:-)

Hej Mads Jeg har ikke selv en trommemaskine, så jeg kan eksperimentere, men jeg har prøvet at sende MIDI samt akkorder til Roland kormaskine. Måske kan det lade sig gøre i Mac udgaven, som du har. Prøv følgende: MIDI - Output chords to External device. Afkryds Output MIDI sync info og lad alle andre felter stå blanke. Forbind lydkortets MIDI Out med trommemaskinens MIDI ind og se hvad der sker. Ingen garanti for, at det kan lade sig gøre. Du må meget gerne skrive her i forummet om det lykkes. Din hjælp er uvurdelig for en rookie som mig...:-) . PgMusic er kendt som et af de software firmaer, som giver den absolut bedste service. Venlig hilsen Lindbjerg

Desværre......det spiller ikke...:-(
Det virker nu mærkeligt at BIAB ikke udsende en eller anden form for midi-besked eller tidskode om at en sang mu afspilles.....alle andre programmer, jeg har haft, kan synkroniseres (på nær garageband).
I går faldt jeg desuden over en tråd her på sitet med følgende indhold:
"Re: Sync Roland DR 880 Drum Machine To Start In Real Band - Inconsistent results
The DR 880 has to be set to slave or external sync so it will follow RB
RB needs to be sending MTC (MIDI Time Code) to the DR 880
This is in Options - MIDI- MIDI out
Also enable realtime messages while there"
Tilsyneladende kan det, jeg gerne vil, godt lade sig gøre i RB for Windows......
Kan det virkelig passe, tror du.....?

Jeg har kontaktet en af mine venner, som også har et lille studie. Han mener, at det sagtens kan lade sig gøre. Åbn MIDI- Output chords to external... og afkryds Output MIDI sync info. Indstil trommemaskinen til Recieve clock og find ud af hvilken kanal den modtager MIDI clock. BIAB er sat til kanal 9, men det er jo ikke sikkert din trommemaskine skal bruge den kanal. Sæt den evt. til Omni. Prøv at rode videre med det, - det må kunne lade sig gøre! Skriv når du har prøvet lidt mere, - det er ret interessant.

Ingen respons.....
Alle mine Roland og Boss maskiner kan sync'e med hinanden, men så snart BIAB er master sker der ingenting. Maskinerne vil gerne fungere som lydmoduler for midi-filer i BIAB (så der er tydeligvis kontakt), men tilsyneladende udsender BIAB ikke MidiTimeCode.....æv!
Det jeg synes er lidt mærkeligt er, at det øjensynligt godt kan lade sig gøre med Real Band for windows.....hmm....ja ja....

--> "** CoreMidi (choose ports)..."
--> I selected port 1 which is the one I'm using and pressed "<-- set all ports to this"
Det havde ikke strejfet mig at udgangsporten for start/stop og tidskoder skulle specificeres.
Alt spiller sammen nu og det lyder rigtig fedt

Band-in-a-Box 2026 Video: AI Stems & Notes - split polyphonic audio into instruments and transcribe
This video demonstrates how to use the new AI-Notes feature together with the AI-Stems splitter, allowing you to select an audio file and have it separated into individual stems while transcribing each one to its own MIDI track. AI-Notes converts polyphonic audio—either full mixes or individual instruments—into MIDI that you can view in notation or play back instantly.
