I think it is what it is. As with any established site, there will be a cast of folks (an "inner circle") who know each other, support each other and are virtual friends. Yes, I am talking about a "clique" -- but not in a negative way. It is just the natural order of things.

If you stick around long enough, attend other folks' shows, be on the chat , etc..... -- then you will start to become part of the "inner circle". Remember almost all insiders started off as outsiders.

Of course, if we have about 10 active BIAB'ers, then we can have our own inner circle that will, overtime, intersect with other inner circles.

One more thing -- since you were 1/2 an hour late, other acts were playing which diluted your viewership.

I feel like I have been accepted by the streetjelly crowd -- even though my viewing numbers are on the low side (except for my 1st show, where I made announcements on a few websites and facebook). I do play mostly off-times, though. It makes sense to promote and go on when you say you are going on.
