I agree completely with everybody's comments. But I'll add this as my take:

I think the site is in transition. Its fairly new and not many people know about it yet. The folks on this forum are constantly trading late-breaking news in the music world, yet we just found out about it recently. If not for Kevin's enthusiasm, we would still not know about it.

As a relatively unknown site, the same handful of people dominate, and it really IS like an entry-level open mic night at times. But the guy who started it wants to make money. As better acts start performing, I see potential for it to become a hot spot... at which time, it will be harder for any of us to get a spot. It will be in Frankie's best interest to make more spots available to the performers who are drawing viewers

In other words, quality of the shows will tend to get better as more people learn about it, and as those who are already there learn what's working for others and start doing it too.

So, John, I hope you continue to play because what you do is FAR more entertaining to me than most of what I hear on SJ at this point in time. I hope more PGForum members participate because this group has a lot to offer.
