I've been playing around with the 'Bass' track type on both the Melody and the Soloist tracks and I haven't yet managed to get it to display both tab and bass clef. I suspect that this is because the nature of the Melody and the Soloist tracks is that they are for treble clef instruments.

I loaded a Bass Realtrack that had notation attached to it, Realtrack #443, went into Notation Mode and set the clef to "Tab" (Under "Opt") and the display was in bass clef and with tab notation.

With the above in mind, try writing your bass lines on the "Bass" track. Once you're written them, 'Freeze' the track so that you input is not lost when the song is generated. Then, under "Opt" select "Tab". See if that works for you.
