Pat mentioned this site to me a while back and I checked in a couple of times. I'm gonna sit down with Janice soon and see if we can figure out how and when to catch some folks there from This site. As others have mention back when we were with bands "dead air" or noodling around didn't happen. We had a tight show and a band member who was hilarious and could kill time when changing a string was necessary. The last time just Janice and I played in front of a crowd was 8 years ago so I don't think we would be of much interest! RealTracks have made me so lazy that my bass fiddle has a good layer of dust on it! Janice and I pick up the guitars to rough out arrangements and then let BIAB do it's magic. I don't think we would have ever started back playing at all if I hadn't stumbled into PG Music.

Our albums and singles are on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Pandora and more.
If interested search on Janice Merritt. Thanks!

@Kevin - Aw so. I discovered her last name was Mason by following her YT links. She's destined for stardom with Brent on her team (assuming). She was all personality bundled in talent. She has the looks needed these days. I marked her to follow.

take note that when she performs, she has the lions share of whatever audience is in attendance. It wouldn't surprise me to see her make a name for herself.

and regarding JosieC... its evident that she performs regularly... she has her proverbial act together. Watching someone who knows the ropes is a real pleasure... which is why I'm particularly interested in hearing Danny Campo and Silvertones

I plan to perform every Saturday evening at 8 (starting next week)so nobody who wants to watch will have to wonder when to tune in.

Kevin and JosieC both schedule their performances, so you can see in advance when they're scheduled and then tune in at the appropriate time and date.

well... you have some KILLER tracks to perform along with... even if just Janice put a guitar on her lap and sang along with your trax, it would be something well worth watching and hearing. And considering that you don't see any faces, it's surprisingly stress free. Its just like practicing in the living room, except that people on the other side of the world can comment

Good show today John!

I do have one complaint, though. I hesitate to mention it because I don't know how much control you have over it.

Every song that I heard (and I missed a lot if you were on for 3 hours!) faded out. I think fading out in a live setting is a fun thing to do every once in awhile, but most songs need a real ending.

My opinion might not be shared by everyone, but maybe a bunch do. So, what do the rest of you think about fade-outs in a live performance?

I hear what you're saying on that. When I first started redoing my whole show using RB there were no shots or holds or that type of ending. If I get ambitious I could redo them, the endings at least.I do like fades though.

The owner of StreetJelly, Frank Podlaha, said that if we send him good photos, he'll put them in the banner of performers photos at the top of the main screen

I have mixed opinions. One one hand I have never EVER heard a live band fade out a song in a performance. I think fades were probably introduced when radio dominated the industry, and DJs probably preferred songs that gave them an easy lead-in to their schtick. Which isn't necessary in a show.

However, what starts out for for one reason takes on a life of its own after years of repetition. People who have heard a song fade out for years on their LP or CD may expect to hear it fade out when you perform it too.

Personally, I find it awkward to sing more quietly as the song tapers off... even when I can use midi to fade out my playing on the fly, I think it sounds more dynamic and interesting to create other types of endings.

But in the final analysis... variety is the spice of life. A fade is one of many different ways to end a song. ANY type of ending, if used in every song, will get old pretty quickly.

Ha, ha -- I have two songs that I perform with guitar/vocal that I try and fade out. I do think it is a cool effect if not over-used.

Yea -- no sense re-doing all of your songs, just too much work for the benefit received. Maybe do one or two -- or just do a non fade-out on the next backing track you create.

I have 2 or 3 of my backing tracks that fade out -- I am not going to rework them.

I don't do fades ever since endings were available.Out of 200+ songs may 75 fade.Just the luck of the draw.

I'm suffering major Street Jelly withdrawal (SJW). No one broadcasting today.

Woe is myself!
