It's referring to the ZZPOPBALLAD style I think.
However since your attempt was piano part, and the error message says 'bass', I'm not sure that is the issue.
Are you generating on a blue colored track? (one of the first 6-8 tracks if BB tracks are incorporated)
These are assigned BiaB tracks (keeping the BiaB structure).
You can click 'Tracks-Make all BB tracks regular tracks' to get more control of these (they change color when changed). Then you can generate whatever you want on these tracks.

Since the other tracks are already generated, you can change the main style without affecting existing tracks. Then generate the new one using whatever you want.
I have a lot of fun doing this type of thing.

Only thing to watch out for is if you want to go back and RE-generate a new part of an existing track .. sometimes it helps to remember the style used originally .. that's when the Comment window comes in handy; make a note before changing it.
