It would be good IMO when PG releases 2014 - which I think/guess will be a major upgrade - if PG could consider ditching the current naming 'pro, ultrapack, megapack, everything pack, audiophile', which are pretty meaningless to the novice, for something more transparent and simple. Maybe something ultramegapro simple like pack 1, pack 2, pack 3 etc.

The current packs are not displayed in hierarchical order on the PG site making it hard for a novice to find out what each pack has actually got. The wording for the description for each pack is phrased differently which also confuses, if you are not in the know.

ZZ,

Does the BIAB Packages Tab help? It gives a fairly good comparative description of the various offerings. I don't in any way mean to discourage you from making the suggestion if you think this is insufficient.

FWIW
I started with Band In Box Version 5 in 1992, I even dug out some of the original disks (see attachment)

21 years later, when upgrading I did get confused with all of the different options available. I opted for the EverythingPak with RealBand. For me that's worked out fine, but I was still a bit confused in my decision making process, given the multiple options available.

Hope this helps with any possible re-badging

Yes, I already have the 'everything pack' (which is actually missing a few early RTs I believe). Recently I have been researching the different packs for a person who is not on the internet. For the layperson (and we were all like this when we first purchased) the terms are meaningless

1] Pro: I thought this means 'professional' and would probably mean the most professional pack - but no

2] What's bigga (sic) mega or ultra? In laypersons terms?

3] Is a plus pack bigga than an ultra or is it smaller than or bigga than a mega? If so by want measure?

The clock ticks after 30 seconds you will be dunked in custard if you do not have the correct answer

It gets nauseating to me. All this artificial distortion and vacuous marketing language. It's not just PG of course, Cubase is now in its 20th (approx.) version and is called "Cubase 7". My deodorant wants me to believe its specifically designed for 'adventurous people' and is essential gear if I want to become an astronaut. Edvard Munch makes a lot of sense here...

Much better to have something understandable like Pack 1, Pack 2, Pack 3 etc

Just my opinion

I like Sonars list

Sonar, Sonar studio, and Sonar Pro

How about BiaB, BiaB plus, and BiaB Pro

Biab = the basic program and a modest amount of content

Plus adds a bunch of extra content

Pro add all the content

Then have the Audiophile version of each of the above, for folks that want to go that route. Just my thoughts, cause i agree with ZZ as i can never remember what is what between the terms mega, ultra, and everything. Sure you can look at the chart, but it is still a tad confusing.

If it stays the same i will deal with it.
