Greetings all my virtual (and some not so virtual) friends -

I haven't been posting much lately. It's not because I am dissatisfied with the PGMusic applications, as I believe they are the best programs on my computer.

No, it's because in mid-August, I was laid off from work. So, my full time-job became finding a full-time job. As a result of the effort, I have been offered a contractor position as a project manager supporting application/database development at the Marine Corps Logistics Center in Albany, GA.

For my wife and me, this will be great, as it will be getting back to our roots - my dad grew up about 45 minutes away and my wife grew up an hour or so away. This will also put us much closer to our elderly parents, and they are thrilled. I also won't begrudge trading my 1 to 1 1/2 hour one-way daily commutes in Northern Virginia for a 15-20 minute commute.

Assuming all goes well with this new contract, we will be moving sometime mid-to-the-end of November. We have been busy painting and spiffing to get our house on the market (we've been in this house almost 20 years, so there's a lot to de-crapify) and packing our accumulated "stuff".

My one regret is that I might miss beta testing this year, depending on how things time out, but we'll see.

We are looking at this as a big adventure and are very excited to meet new people and settle into a new community. We love where we are now, but the lower cost of living in Albany, GA, will get us to retirement much sooner than staying in Virginia.

I will post as I can, and will be back at it full-force when we have finished our transition.
