. Merriam-Webster covers the word pretty well HERE: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/chops(..never knew that it started with horses, but it makes sense.) EX: Q: Man, that was crazy! Can you sit in on the next set? A: Sorry. Been blowing since 11 and my chops are gone. Gotta book. (This is a response that might come from a horn player. Probably not a piano player.) Am I dating myself?
