1. I'm confused.... generally if something is greyed out, it's not an active function for what you are attempting. Read the manual to be sure you can actually do it that way. Please see my earlier reply.
3. Grid? do you mean the measures?
No, the vertical grid lines where you see the break up of the bar into beats.
4. Yep... real band doesn't deal in keys as far as I know... it's audio or midi.... the key sigs of the song are selected in Band in a Box and you select the minor or major key there....and that refers to the scale that it will use for melody mostly as far as I know.
As Mac said, you can select Keys in RealBand, however the function isn't fully implemented as it is in BIAB.
