Could you pls help me with this question? BIAB is excellent for country and jazz songs. But I was wondering if it can do backing tracks for newer pop dance songs. For example, I am thinking of this song, Love you like a love song, by Selena Gomez. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IdG-t22VmYWhich styles should I buy so that I can replicate this style? Hi fantasyvn,
There are some dance styles in this new edition but I haven't yet played around with them so I don't know whether or not they'd be suitable for you.
Essentially, BIAB doesn't reproduce arrangements of songs. It simply offers musicians tools to use to create an arrangement. Sometimes those tools parallel what was used on a record but, more often than not, the backing tracks are completely independent.
What version of BIAB do you have?

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I have the 2013 BIAB and am looking to buy new styles which can, to some extent, match the new songs currently being played on radio.
More advice would be greatly appreciated.

Support of acidized loops is a new feature that would certainly help out with what you want. So too, the ability to create User Realtracks would be an advantage.
Maybe your should wait until the new feature video is released. There was a note in the download that it would be here in a couple of days.

You can use BB to recreate almost any tune. The limiting factor is your imagination on how to accomplish it.
Obviously BB would have some problems doing this straight up. I don't think I have found a 4 on the floor drum beat as of yet.... however, dance pop is not my main writing genre so there may well be a 4OTF drum pattern in one of the dance styles.
Using BB in conjunction with other synths and loops, it could be replicated easily with a bit of work and production chops.
Another option that I use when, on the rare occasion I get the itch to record a cover tune, is to simply find a style that is close to what I want, or even use a different style for the song and work it up that way. I know there are a number of dance styles in BB so have a look and try a bunch of them..... type out the chords to the song for the first few lines in the intro and verse and play with changing the styles until you get a close match. Save it and then start building the remainder of the song.
I have found that there are some styles that BB simply has not yet incorporated.... imagine that. With over 3000+ styles available and still there are some that are not there. (I'm talking about in country music styles)

Thanks to everyone. Yesterday I tried the disco style in BIAB and found it very useful. I only hope that BIAB would release more similar styles so that one can choose.
