As I wrote above, when you get the hard drive and run the setup program, you have four choices, and if you let BIAB do the install, it will find everything.

Those four choices determine how you use the program. You can even use BIAB with a minimal install, where you run the program with all of its files directly from the hard drive you get from PG Music. In other words, you can install all of it, or some of it, or very little of it to the hard drive in your computer.

And Sly, so you don't have one problem, since you say you know computers well: the only place you should NOT install BIAB is into the /Program Files folder (either one, if you have Windows 7 or 8, 64-bit). I can explain why, but just don't do that, even if your experience tells you that's where it should go. Best to accept the default path offered by the installer.
