+1 Axey. The '14 mixer is much trickier to adjust accurately than the previous floating mixer.
VSTis often use shift-click for fine-tuning faders, as you say.
Do pse post your suggestion in the Wish-List forum, and I hope other will come in to bat for it.
I've recently suggested revisions to the mixer to speed-up zero-ing. Finer volume control would be equally useful.
I'm afraid the '14 mixer looks stylish - but the old one was much easier to use!
