Click the little downward arrow at the left end of the Track and select 'Edit DX FX'
Then remove the suspected plugin from the list.
The FX button by the track volume slider just turns the sound of the effect on/off (using the bypass method I believe). They still are running ..
If you look int he effects plugin area using the little arrow you'll see each effect has a bypass option. I think the FX button just enables bypass for each effect being used so the settings for each are saved.
