You are correct that Sampletank and Amplitube are separate installations. You need to install those on your laptop and register with IK Multimedia.

There's no need to uninstall BIAB/RB. I only ever install over the top of existing installations. Before you re-install (if you choose to), open BIAB and under Help | Utilities, there is an option to deactivate. You need to be connected to the web. This will protect you ability to re-activate.

My advice is not activate the software until it's running perfectly. A user gets 30 days of use before it's necessary to activate.
