The actual HI-Q sound files ARE NOT the files in

"D:\bb\dx settings"

Leave that directory alone - put ALL the .tgs and .txt files BACK!

The files in that directory (D:\bb\dx settings) simply tell BIAB WHERE to find the 27 SampleTank "HI-Q" sample sounds themselves. These sounds are spread over seven (7) sub-directories are called:

\Bass (3 basses)
\Drums (2 kits)
\Guitar (7 types/kinds)
\Piano ( 8 types/kinds of keys)
\Strings( 2 kinds)
\Synth ( 3 kinds)
\World (2 kinds).

And these sub-directories are under the subdirectory called …\Band-in-a-Box\

Since my actual ST install is NOT standard (different drive) and since I consolidated all folders (Sonic Synth, Miroslav Phil., SampleTank, SampleTron, SmpleMoog, and all ST add-ons including BIAB Hi-Q) into one massive folder for easier finding things) I just had to do a clean ST with it's free sound lib install on a Win XP VM. I had to confirm the default directories which are:

"C:\Program Files(x86)\IK Multimedia\SampleTank 2.5" and

"C:\Program Files(x86)\IK Multimedia\Instruments"

That directory is where you tell ST to look for sounds

So the \Band-in-a-Box\ folder needs to be

"C:\Program Files(x86)\IK Multimedia\Instruments\Band-in-a-Box\"

Which is obvious to most folks here since they do default installs but my files are never where theirs are

Now for some reason (last year) the \Band-in-a-Box\ subdirectory was getting nested too deep (or not deep enough).

That folder, "\Band-in-a-box\" can be copied around until you find the magik place (up a level, over to Sampletank 2.5, …) where BIAB on your particular machines "non-standard" install finds the HI-Q sounds
