When you run the patches from PG Music, the EXE file will ask you the location of your main /BB folder and your /BB/RealTracks and RealDrums folders. If you have the PG Music drive and the copy on another external drive each connected, they will have different drive letters and you can run the patch twice. Even if you run a patch a second time on the same files (like the RealTracks in the same location on yet another drive, for example) running the patch twice does no harm.

In my opinion, it is safe to patch the PG Music drive. Whenever PG Music updates the program, it creates a backup of the BBW.EXE file so you have the ability to revert, if you want to. In twenty years, though, I have not had to do that.
