I have a Reggae tune I'm writing, the tonal center is A, but it's a mixolydian progression.

Chorus:

||: A / / / | D / A / | G / / / | G / A / :||

I want the A chord to be just the triad as A7 for the tonic chord doesn't sound right for reggae. But the melody includes the b7 over the A and I want the soloist to include the b7 over the A.

Is there a way to do that?

I played the melody on the guitar here (will be vocal), the G note (the b7) is prominent.
