I have to admit, I never thought about a "relative major" to a Mixolydian mode.
But, yes, you're right. G Mix has a F instead of an F#, so it does have the same notes as C Major.

However, even though the notes may be the same ...

In the ten million rock songs that are in Mixolydian mode (Gloria, a bunch of Dead tunes, maybe every Who song, etc.) the b7 is empphasized a lot. That's what makes the songs work so well. It's just not the same.
