Dear Realband user,
I just watched the latest video of Realband since I am new to here in the forum and a question came up: How do you Realband in conjunction with BIAB? From the GUI point of view lots of the button are the same in both. Is RB only used for mixing things together?

RB allows more than one additional audio track to project. RB makes it easier to edit, and regenerate sections of a track. RB allows multiple routing options for FX and grouping of tracks when mixing. RB makes many of the jobs easier when trying to get the song jut how you want it. RB allows real-time FX use while recording. RB allows 'multi-riffs' which let you pick through numerous generations of a track and assemble the parts you want into a finished track. RB lays things out linearly, start to finish whereas BiaB uses verses/choruses that repeat.
There are many things RB does that BiaB doesn't. There are things that BiaB makes quicker and easier. Many users start out in BiaB to get the main idea worked out, then move to RB to make the additional changes, edits and record additional tracks.
They give you both of these tools, so it is worth learning them.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

For me, BB is a composing and writing tool. It allows me to experiment with the song.... changing keys, tempo, styles and of course editing the structure is so freaking easy..... copy & paste.... add, delete....
Unfortunately, BB is limited to a certain number of tracks/instruments depending on the style chosen but around 5 is normal.
If you open that same project in Real Band (RB), you start with the original tracks and now, you can add more instruments to it. For example, the LA HARD ROCK style has guitars, bass, and drums,,,,, maybe the B3 organ (I'm not 100% sure) but that is it.... nothing else. HOWEVER, if I open the project in RB, I can add steel guitar, fiddle, dobro, mandolin, and more to that project.
I have done that very thing to many of my songs on my website.
Essentially, Real Band is a DAW where you can add more tracks, record live audio & midi, and do production/mastering kinds of work to the song project.
I first bought this software for the steel guitar sound..... once I found out what it could do beyond the steel guitar, well..... suffice to say that it is my "go to" software now for writing and composing. I start in BB, move to RB and end up in Sonar. Everyone has their own way to work and whatever works best for you is how you should do it. You will develop your work method as you learn the program.

You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
