Hi Andrew,

Yes, to get chords playing as half-note triplets, it would be necessary to fiddle with the meter changer for a at least one bar. The easiest way would be to insert a 3/4 bar and to slow it down so that the three notes played in the same time as four notes at original tempo.

Here's a post that might help out.

I suspect that you'd need to drop the tempo of the 3/4 to 0.75 of the original tempo so that the three notes are played in the same time as 1 bar of 4/4.

Also, the sound of the drums may well be affected by this. What I'd try is (and I don't know if this will work) ...

1. Construct the song as 4/4.

2. Generate the song.

3. Freeze those tracks that I don't want to have playing as triplet half-notes.

4. For the bars I need triplet half-notes in, use F5 and set the beats to 3.

5. Set the tempo to 3/4 of the original tempo.

6. Enter the chords on each of beats 1, 2, 3 (note although beat 4 exists to be used in the bar of 3/4, it is not played by BIAB).

7. For the bar following the triplets, press F5 and set the beats back to 4 and the tempo back to the original tempo.

8. Generate the song.

In theory, the frozen tracks should continue playing 4/4 throughout and the 3/4 bar should now play half-note triplets for those instruments required.

Let me know if it works. I'm curious!

All the best,
Noel
