or if you just want a dedicated "guitar like" controller, because you can't play keyboards, just to get notes/chords into PC the You Rock Guitar WORKS - I have one - but it's a short scale and takes getting use to! I got mine on a whim but was surprised at how well it worked (it has limits - no fret vibrato, etc.)

I think if you look around you can find the YRG cheaper (under 2 bills) !

It only gets more expensive from here if you go HW route (GK pickups and a GK compatible I/O device, or a Godin, Parker Fly, Roland Ready Strat, or other guitar - but you still need GK compatible device to plug them into…. )
