The correct answer is ... it depends.

It depends on what you mean by "install."
It depends on where you save your songs.
And it depends on what you mean by "songs."

If, by "install," you mean you've purchased the USB drive version and plan to replace the previous drive with the new drive, your songs may actually not be there.

Regardless of how you use BiaB or which drive you run it from, always have a completely separate data folder structure where you save anything that either you create or that BiaB (or any other app) creates.
And make sure to BACKUP your data regularly.

If you saved real tracks or dragged instrument tracks to a DAW, they will be gone when you upgrade (if by USB drive).
I learned the hard way that BiaB saves those files within the \BB structure.
Therefore DO NOT DRAG DIRECTLY INTO A SEQUENCER. Always drag tracks to a MS Windows data folder and then import them into your DAW. That way they will always be there even after you upgrade.
