La versione 2014 per Windows è arrivata con questa novità che per certi versi può apparire anche sconvolgente. Spero di non sembrarvi esagerato ma è quasi come se da PG Music lanciassero un messaggio:
vi abbiamo dato gli strumenti, adesso . . . salite sul palco e suonate!
Con le UserTracks potete istruire il programma a suonare . . . come voi!
Potete registrare innumerevoli templates con "i vostri stili esecutivi" (non ci sono limiti) e farli lavorare da BiaB come le RealTracks native.
Scritto così può sembrare cosa di poco conto, ma tra i tanti interrogativi da considerare vorrei far notare un risvolto economico: acquistando l'ultima released del software (o l'aggiornamento per chi già ne possiede una versione) si potrebbe alleggerire la spesa rinunciando alle RealTracks, e sostituendo quest'ultime con le proprie esecuzioni.
Ho semplificato ai limiti del lecito naturalmente, non è proprio così facile come l'ho fatto sembrare, inoltre so bene che moltissimi utilizzatori di BiaB non suonano alcun strumento, mi spiace per loro perchè a meno che non abbiano amici strumentisti da coinvolgere nell'avventura, non potranno cimentarsi in essa da protagonisti.
Per coloro invece che suonano più o meno bene uno strumento musicale, PG Music offre già nel proprio sito indicazioni importanti su come cominciare a preparare le UserTracks. Alcuni miei amici hanno alzato bandiera bianca ancora prima di finire il video demo! Io ci tengo invece a sottolineare che il tutto può essere semplificato e ridimensionato in funzione delle nostre capacità, in sostanza non è una cosa così impossibile come può apparire.
Ovviamente se uno strumentista ha capacità esecutive alla Chick Corea avrà la possibilità di ottenere grandissimi risultati, chi suona la chitarra con i soli accordi maggiori, minori e settime, e si limita abitualmente ad accompagnare testi di canzoni popolari, potrà comunque ottenere risultati, saranno adeguati alle sue conoscenze e capacità, e lasciatemi dire che già così non è poco!
Con questo post in sintesi vorrei lanciare un appello a coloro che pensano di poter provare un giorno o l’altro a creare le proprie UserTracks. Ho appena iniziato anch’io e non voglio assolutamente propormi come esperto di questa funzione, se a qualcuno interessa l’argomento potremmo affrontarlo assieme, scambiandoci qui le nostre esperienze positive o negative. Sono ai primi tentativi, molto semplici ed elementari, ma mi sono già stati utili per identificare ad esempio alcune cosine da non fare assolutamente, altre “obbligatorie” ed anche un problemino che suppongo segnalerò a PG Music appena mi sono convinto che non è dovuto a miei errori.

Grande Seranto!ero nel dubbio se aggiornare oppure no,in fondo per quello che faccio e più che sufficiente quello che possiedo,però questa nuova funzione mi intriga parecchio e anche se sono un "polistrumentista" da battaglia(il diploma in percussioni e tutto il resto e studio da "casa")non mi dispiacerebbe creare stili personalizzati meno "americani" e più "italiani",guardando nel forum in lingua inglese o visto che e stata creata un apposita sezione per le usertracks ma non potendo provare ancora di persona la funzione aspetto che qualcuno come Seranto mi dia più consigli in merito anche su che tipo di accordi mettere per crearli in maniera decente ecc....ecc,se ne vale la pena penso che aggiornerò!

Sono d'accordo con Seranto. Non credo sia facile ma è una rivoluzione. Questo divide gli utenti di Biab fra quelli come me che lo usano per quello che già contiene (ed è tantissimo) e quelli che vogliono costruirsi i propri stili di accompagnamento, magari a partire da quelli esistenti. Una volta si poteva fare con gli stili MIDI, ma era complicato. Con la possibilità di registrare i propri loop in audio e quindi le proprie RealTracks, dovrebbe essere più agevole, sicuramente più eccitante. E sarebbe bello avere tanti nuovi stili creati da musicisti/appassionati ITALIANI.

Grazie intanto per i vostri interventi, cerco di fare il punto sulla situazione anche se temo di non riuscire ad esser molto breve.
Credo che per riuscire in un progetto sia indispensabile, oltre al crederci, riuscire ad ottenere al più presto risultati che alimentino entusiasmo ed idee. Mi vien scontato perciò consigliare di iniziare con “semplicità".
Da PG Music hanno messo a disposizione una decina di templates d’esempio. Sono in pratica dei file di BiaB che converrebbe suonare con il nostro strumento eseguendoli assieme al programma ma registrando solo la nostra esecuzione. Hanno una difficoltà variabile da file a file, contengono tutti determinate successioni di accordi impostati in maniera da coprire molte delle situazioni considerate dai produttori tra le più tipiche rintracciabili nella realtà.
Facciamo un esempio però importante: se un chitarrista desidera seguire il percorso indicatoci da loro dovrebbe registrare una decina di files con la propria esecuzione per ogni stile interpretativo che desidera immortalare nel programma. Potrà essere utilizzato anche per innumerevoli composizioni nuove ma (spero di farmi comprendere bene) lo stile sarà sempre lo stesso, variabile nel tempo, negli accordi e in molti altri particolari, ma soprattutto il suono ottenuto sarà unico. Se si vogliono creare stili diversi si deve ripetere la procedura da zero!
Non voglio spaventare nessuno ma bisogna tener presente che suonare diversi minuti (registrandosi!) senza errori, stecche, inceppamenti, ecc. è impegnativo anche per buoni strumentisti ed in modo particolare per eseguire accordi con intervalli “bizzarri”! In sintesi non è proprio una stupidata.
Tornando al mio discorso di apertura dove consigliavo di iniziare con semplicità, la mia idea sarebbe questa: porsi prima una meta, cioè creare uno stile per suonare nello stile di . . .
Mettiamo che io voglia creare uno stile per accompagnarmi mentre canto canzoni romantiche italiane (stile Baglioni?), creo un solo file di BiaB utilizzando i classici accordi maggiori e minori, con e senza la settima (nient’altro), però in tutti i 12 semitoni della scala (non ne vengono fuori moltissime misure, l’importante è mescolarli un po’ e che ci siano tutti).
Ho provato, un solo file (non 8 o 10) buttato giù grattando un po’ le corde della chitarra, l’ho messo nella cartella giusta e posso creare tutte le composizioni che voglio, se scelgo accordi tra quelli che ho utilizzato per creare il template . . . la cosa funziona!
Ovviamente poi lo spettro delle possibilità si allarga, sia in quantità (di stili e composizioni) che in qualità, in funzione delle capacità dello strumentista.

a proposito di biab 2014...
con questo aggiornamento non mi trova piu gli style (ce ne saranno qlk decina in tutto) e la maschera è nuova
come devo procedere per ricostruire il database degli style disponibili?
la cartella è sempre c:bb

Sulla parte sinistra della finestra del programma, proprio a fianco del riquadro che riporta il titolo della Song, c'è un pulsante titolato Style (la figura rappresenta 3 strumenti musicali), cliccaci sopra ed appare un menu contestuale, seleziona la riga StylePicker (browse all styles)... ed attendi un po' di tempo senza interagire con il PC fin che il programma si ricostruisce l'elenco degli Styles.
Il tempo di attesa potrebbe essere lungo in funzione della potenza di elaborazione del computer e della sua Ram.
PS: non è una cosa grave, e spero tu non ti offenda, ma se hai altri quesiti sulla nuova versione di BiaB, per cortesia apri un post dedicato, mi piacerebbe che questo rimanesse a tema UserTracks. Grazie infinite.

With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums.
