Hi Everyone.

Some of you may remember me as one of ROG's students and I posted my first song here back in July last year. It's taken me a while to put the second one on, but here it is. It's all recorded, mixed and mastered in PowerTracks. I'm doing all the vocals and guitars and Roger played bass and programmed the drums. As before, it's a bit heavier than some of the tracks on here, but I hope you enjoy it.

Playing The Fool
A hopeless case, nothing that he could do
He couldn't see it, but everybody knew
Hidden desires, can no longer be contained
His feelings, he couldn't explain

He sees her walking, walking down the street
It's cliche'd but his heart seems to skips a beat
He's being played, made to look a fool
He's on fire, but she's still looking cool

He thinks he's got it under control
But everybody knows he's acting the fool

He's standing there, he's right in her face
He stammers, he stutters, all over the place and he says
He says nothing useful, nothing helpful
Nothing that makes sense
He says nothing truthful, nothing fruitful
Nothing that he meant

She looks blank, can't understand a word he said
The world comes crashing down on his head
He wants to run but his legs won't do a thing
He tries again but his head begins to spin.

Thanks for listening.

James.

Very nice James. You captured that stuttering, stammering youth that many of us once were perfectly. Actually, it's nice to know that guys still get tongue-tied around a girl.

Second song? Can't wait to hear #3.

Bob

Hi James...

I think this is the first time we've listened to you. This is a super cut! For a second attempt, this sets the bar pretty danged high. The lead guitar was super...loved the tone.

Great stuff...thanks for the musical treat!

Hi James, what a great driving sound.

Really liked the lead guitar work, and the balance was well laid out.

Harmonies worked really well. Overall a really great number.

Another awesome song! I remember "Johnny Was A Joker" from last year.

Hi james
Wish ROG could teach me to be this good!!
Excellent stuff.I keep thinking "Robert Palmer lives"!!
Well written lyrics and pounding rock guitars - just right up my street.
IMHO only, the OD Lead guitar comes over just a tad too loud in parts.

cheers
ian

I love this. Catchy tune, catchy lyrics. It is fresh and original and genuine. The vocals are right on for this style and everything is sitting perfect in the mix. The lead guitar had the right amount of effects to stand out. Nothing is over done - great job!

Keep writing!

Btw Johnny Joker is good too.
