If the MIDI file is not a Type 1 MIDI file, all instruments will appear on one slot in the SEQ window. That would mean you have a Type 0 MIDI file, These can be opened first in RealBand and the Channels Extracted as Tracks, then resaved as a Type 0 MIDI file that can be imported into BB with separate channel/track control available.

Mac, I believe you have a typo here. You should resave the MIDI file as a type 1 not as a type 0.
