Most folks think you just pick up the windcontroller & start playing it.
Pick a sax patch & voila!...you sound like a sax player. (trumpet etc.)

I give 2 thumbs up for it being so new to you. Ya done good!
The octave rollers on the EWI, & the octave keys on the WX are ALWAYS what newbies find most troublesome.

Paraphrasing what Mac said, "practice, practice, practice."
Get it to the point it becomes as natural as using a fork.
I've found that if you're afraid it's not going to come out right, it doesn't.
When you don't care...it gets easier.
