Hi all,
Thought those wondering about using a tablet might like to know: I just bought a SONY Tap 11 tablet from BEST BUY (Windows 8) and it works fine with the BIAB HD.
The unit is the least powered unit they make and it cost $599 with keyboard and stylus pen.

Are you using the BIAB App with it?
Doesnt look at first glance that it has the storage OR the processing power to do a full BIAB job.
And its eye-wateringly expensive in the UK for what it is.

I am interested because, being away a lot, I want a portable BIAB for my tablet and the current App is cr - -er - rubbish.

Ian I can't speak to the cost in UK, but the US list on this unit is $799. I got it on a sale. When installing I opted to "Run the program from the hard disk" thus bypassing storage. It took a long time to install even that, but once installed it runs just as though it were on a laptop. I've ordered a 128gb usb 3.0 flashdrive to see if it will run the program from it. Brian

Ah, missed that bit!
Its a lot for a tablet thickness laptop / notebook. And its got Microsoft OS
I want a BB that will work on my ANDROID tablet.
If it has to be just the midis and no RTs and RDs because of limited storage capacity then so be it.
I just want something that I can flesh a tune out on when I'm AWAY FROM BASE and save as SGU.

Keep us up to date on the flashdrive. Interested in the reliability of the flashdrive vs. the hard drive. It would be nice to carry BIAB in your pocket. Later, Ray

The flash drive will take a while to get to me...I'm hoping for three things: 1)faster (3.0), 2)less drain on battery, 3) more reliable (solid state.)
We'll see.

Full report on SONY VIAO TAP 11 TABLET
The USB 3.0 128gh flash drive works fine. To install it on the tablet I installed as though it was a hard drive.
Since there is only one usb, (3.0 by the way) I used a 4 way usb expander, plugged the BIAB Drive and the Flash-drive into the 4 way. Both were recognized by the tablet.
After installation, I had to phone PG Music. It seems I had loaded BIAB on too many computers. During the conversation the tech guy, while very helpful advising how to install the updates on the drive, seemed to have doubts about a flash drive working well. But as I said, so far so good.
One other thing: This is a significantly less pricey setup than the Windows Surface. And it has a slightly larger screen. Best Buy occasionally has it on sale for $599, (includes nice keyboard and a stylus pen which the surface does not) and the 128gh flash-drive for $70.
I'll let you guys know if I have any issues emerge.
