I notice if I load a realstyle or for that matter a realtrack in a given track in biab 2014 mixer build 380 and then I right click to erase track and subsequent midi data for some reason the realtrack name is still there. If I click generate and play that erased track will be regenerated again. Track is not frozen.
Surely that is all wrong, I would expect the realtrack name in mixer to be totally blank space if I remove it by right clicking and no longer be able to be regenerated.?
Yes, I've encountered that too Musiclover... Seems like the only way to really eradicate a Realtrack like that is to click on the "New Song" icon or changing the RealStyle of the song. However I've done that and if the new RealStyle I enter has less instruments than the one before it, the last track or two from the RealStyle before will often remain listed...
If I really want to clean the slate, I opt for clicking the "New Song" icon, which of course blows away everything. Makes me wonder why BIAB has the option to remove a track when it doesn't function?
just an old analog dog tryin' to learn new tricks...
I do not use RealStyles for that reason, as I haven't figured out how to delete just one of the RealTracks from it. Thought it was just me. So, I build my own styles by selecting the individual RealTracks one instrument at a time.
BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.
I think the problem is that even the ALL-RealTrack styles are based on underlying MIDI styles (the RealTrack essentially overwrites whatever the original MIDI part was in the style). When you remove the RealTrack, you are left with that underlying track.
If the RT is removed, what is being regenerated is the original MIDI part.

The easiest way for me is to right-click the track and disable it for that session with BB. Saving the song will keep it permanently disabled. The notation for the track is still displayed so it won't be totally removed.
I've found other methods, but the above works best.
There's a few ways: =============================================================== If you don't want anything to play on the track, you can either: 1. - disable the track
or
2. - select a silent RealTrack for that track (one of the RealTracks is silence, #1152. If you forget the #1152, you can just type silence as a filter. ========================================================== If you plan to add something else on the track, like a MIDI SuperTracks or a loop, you can just choose that, and the RealTracks will not play. ========================================================== If the style contains an underlying MIDI part, that would get played instead of the RealTracks, and you want that MIDI track to play: - disable the RealTracks in the RealTracks picker (this will instead play underlying MIDI, so you may not want this option)
Windows 10 (64bit) M-Audio Fast Track Pro, Band in a Box 2025, Cubase 14, Cakewalk and far too many VST plugins that I probably don't need or will ever use
OMG, glad someone brought this up! I pull my hair out over this every time. So after reading this thread I am trying to disable a track. How do you do that? I see no option in the right-click menu to disable. Just mute and a lot of other options.
