I've had some luck making user tracks from some either midi or mp3 files.
I say it works if i use just the song it's derived from. If I put several chord together, it works but sounds like Kr#$#p.
I'm afraid I'm locked into melody too much and not too much into chording rhythm.
I've used several resonator(cold frosty morning) songs and some guitar instrumentals.
So am I going in the wrong direction, should it be more rhythm if i want the rt's to be more universal?

Yes. User tracks like RTs are best used for rhythm beds.

John, if you have a file like "cold Frosty morning" which when played on a dobro posted on reso hangout here http://www.resohangout.com/topic/35913Does this have too much melody picking to make a good RT-Using this as a learning example. How would you use this to develop a good rt- example only! Just trying to learn Wyndham
