PT2013:
I don't know if it was running the ASIO/USB-based editor/librarian for one of my mfx units or the recent iTunes upgrade, but yesterday I started getting the Error4 message (WAV Device Already In Use, Not Found, Not Working, Conflicting IRQs, yadda-yadda-yadda)everytime I loaded a MIDI file or stopped playing it. DXi/VSTi instruments like Coyote/Forte/VSC (and I'll assume the other that I have) stopped sounding. WAV files in sequences no longer played (even in the "Latency Adjust" file). Control panel indicated all devices working properly. Windows MediaPlayer had no problem playing a WAV file. My driver soundcard drivers (and others) are up to date.

Only PT---BIAB and RB were fine. My other DAWS (Sonar, ProTools, MixCraft, ProTracks, SoundForge & Reaper) were also fine (except for Studio One [nice plugins] which never works properly and Tracktion3/4/5 [interesting loop workflow] which couldn't properly play a MIDI file to save itself).

I checked the PT Support FAQ and saw that I have/had company.

During an attempt to change an ASIO option in PT, the program froze and I had to shut it down through Task Manager. The next time I started PT2013 up, it acknowledged the non-normal shutdown and asked if I wanted to restore the defaults. I said yes, restore the defaults and---problem solved. Everything is working again.

The only issue is resetting all of your preferences. I didn't want to save/rename the PT INI files because I wasn't sure that the setting that was causing me problems wasn't being stored in one of them.

So, at long last, my question: Does anyone know which INI files store which settings?
