I don't know the answer, but I can confirm similar findings. Sampletank is not working for me for Bass, but it is for other tracks (I tested Bass, Piano, Strings, Guitar).

I ran the IK Multimedia Authorization Manager, and re-entered my licence string, but still no sound.

Restarted Band In A Box, still no sound, but only on the Bass Track

All tracks in the song I tested are MIDI.

I eventually set up Sampletank on every track, solo'd each one in succession, only the Bass won't play.

Like you, switch to Forte, all good, back to Sampletank, nothing (for Bass). I See the MIDI data and notes on keyboard actuate in the Sampletank window. No sound.

I wonder if others have similar experiences?
